The existing MRCMPU head office was designed by Architect Padma Shri Laurie Baker, ‘the Gandhi of Architecture’. It is the only building designed by Baker in the Malabar region and was constructed in the year 1992. The conditions proposed by MRCMPU was to design a head office building, that could accommodate three departments, and other facilities alongside integrate with the existing building. The site was situated next to the existing building, and there was need to bring in the architectural features and ideologies expressed in Baker’s design.
We are also privileged to have worked with Laurie Baker in the past, and also follow his principle.
